We live in a world of hate
And we must recognize that
This may come as a shock
But the golden rule you learned in elementary school
Where we were taught to treat others as we wish to be treated
Is a lie
In 30 years I’ll tell my children
That they live in a cruel word
In which what we teach our children is never upheld
I’ll tell them how our world can become a living hell
I’ll say this
We were told once upon a time
Man lived in harmony side by side
That our wrongs could be righted
We can some how become united
But in our era fairy tales don’t come true
We cannot conclude
That we shall always live turmoil
In the future
We cannot claim peace or a perfect world
No longer can we teach what we no longer preach
No longer can it be said that we need to make a fix
We are a foolish people that think others can change the world for us
But sadly I can say nothing
